The installation consists of 48 cameras system, placed around the globe; interconnected by a software, transmit the image of the sun when it occupies a specific place: that is above the horizon before sunset. Every half hour the software transfers the image source to the next camera; so as to reproduce the sunset for 24 consecutive hours and keep the sun right above the horizon before it sets. This project is dedicated to the Russian scientist and thinker A. L. Chizhevsky, born in 1897, known as the founder of Chronobiology (study of the sun’s effect on biology) that examines periodic (cyclic) phenomena in living organisms and their adaptation to solar-related rhythms, known as biological rhythms.
