In the project Station to Station artists from many different disciplines came together in a trip across the States, each one on their own exploration to define creativity today. Over the course of three weeks in September 2013, a train traveled from New York City to San Francisco, making nine stops at train stations across the country.

Dough Aitken created the Nomadic  Light Sculpture, making the Station to Station train a generative light sculpture that responds to the world around it. The light changes depending to the temperature, the light, the speed of the train and the landscape around it.
