The artist designs his light installations from the group ‘Stabilizing Light’ for their respective place in the interior or exterior space and responds to its characteristics, reacting to it. In the former workshop of the sculptor Erich Hauser in Rottweil, Christoph Dahlhausen has developed three light installations for the interior space. A further installation outdoors, ‘Stabilizing Light, Hauser Park’, also makes architectural reference to the workshop hall – the scaffolding poles and thus the entire composition relate to the building. At the same time, the work can be seen as a response to the sculptures of Erich Hauser, which are located opposite, on the outer skin of the exhibition space. Christoph Dahlhausen responds to its star-shaped, spiky alignment with his dynamic lines, which gravitate (more) towards Erich Hauser’s two works. Christoph Dahlhausen sees his interventions in the room itself and outdoors as a respectful gesture towards his fellow artist and as a dignified approach to Erich Hauser’s work.
