Bettina Pousttchi works at the interface of sculpture, photography and architecture. Her site-specific interventions in public space often cover entire house facades and refer to the urban or historical context of a place. Pousttchi reflects on the role of photography in the digital age and questions the relationship between memory and history in transnational perspective. Her interest in the structures of public space continues in her sculptures, for which she often transforms street fixtures such as barriers, street posts or bicycle racks.
At the Berlinische Galerie, Pousttchi will present selected sculptures and photographs and develop a site-specific work for the museum's facade.
